COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
FLOODLIGHT, ELECTRIC-24 VOLT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
This CID covers a vehicle floodlight which is controllable from outside the military vehicle. The floodlight provides localized directional illumination during night operations.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein, the materials shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s material specifications for floodlights. The use of recovered materials made in compliance with the regulatory requirements is acceptable providing all the requirements of the CID are met (see 5.4).
2.1.1 Metals. Metals shall be of corrosion resistant type or shall be treated to resist corrosion.
2.2 Design and construction. The design and construction of the floodlight shall be as specified in figure 1.
2.2.1 Housing. The floodlight housing shall be of sufficient size and mechanical strength to withstand handling, transit, storage and installation without causing malfunction or distortion.
2.2.2 Connectors. The floodlight shall be provided with two electrical connector assemblies, Army part number 8741492.
